Everything Changed Overnight

On July 9, at 5 p.m. a group exhibition of sculptures and installations “Everything Changed Overnight” will be opened in Panemune castle park.

The exhibition "Everything Changed Overnight" brings together works - sculptures, installations, and sculptural objects by seven artists. These are works that in their own way communicate about the intertwined topics - the realities of recent months, historical references and the importance of material and content transformations as well as mythology for today. The content of the exhibition does not bypass the most important topic of the recent war but also attempts to express the inner feelings related to it through the plastic language of sculptures and their interconnections. At the same time, when observing and reflecting on the compounds of materials and their deformations, it is not difficult for the viewer to immersively associate himself with his own interpretations. The answer to decoding the meanings of works can be found in the titles and by paying attention to shapes, the timeline of the materials, or even their original purpose.

The artists presenting their works in the exhibition are of different generations, graduates of the Vilnius Academy of Arts: sculptors, painters, drawers, and representatives of interdisciplinary art. Some of them have chosen the individual path of a creator and others, in addition, also teach at the academy. The various materials used to create the works (concrete, metal, glass, ceramics, and organic materials) and different means of expression, show the multi-layered nature of the school and the ability to maintain its distinctive authorial uniqueness.

Artists: Jonas Aničas, Nerijus Erminas, Aušra Jasiukevičiūtė, Jonas Kazlauskas, Tauras Kensminas, Rytis Urbanskas, Pavel Pavel

Curator: Agnė Mackevičiūtė

The exhibition is available until October 1st
